88-94 recirc actuator calibration?

Got the dreaded click and replaced my recirc actuator. Few weeks later this one started clicking again. Got another ordered and the wrong style was sent to me. So I went ahead and removed old one, inspected gears and it seemed fine to me. Replaced it and functioned it and noticed that the door doesn't just open and close. It sort of ratchets backs and forth like it's out of calibration or alignment or something. Recirc and fresh air function right, and it only clicks when door is opening. Is there a calibration process for it?

I saw this earlier, try reading air delivery. This is the 94 OE service.

I guess I gotta take it out and function it while still plugged in to verify it's position. Assuming they go bad cause over the years they get off and the over closing or opening strips gears.
