Wow maybe they did that for crew cabs.
Yes back in the day, we sold Delco replacement horns, and they had a letter code on the housing that indicated the pitch/note. Dad had 4 on a couple of our square body Burbs. You could hear that from a good distance. I recommend if doing this to test your horns and see how they sound. Some combinations of notes are better than others.Yes there different pitches I think. I know all 1500s do. But from what we've gathered the 3500s dont because mine didnt and wasnt wired for but also @frito-bandito didnt either
