5spd swap w/ auto column wiring

I've read that the P/N input for the ECM needs to be connected for a 5spd swap on the old-dash-style trucks. This was with a 700r4 though, my 94 has a 4l60e and the old dash, and I do not find EMC inputs on the column in any wiring diagram I've gotten my hands on. Is this unnecessary for me due the 60e being electronically controlled vs the 700r? If not, what wires do I connect?
