Suburban1500
I'm Awesome
Picked up this 1997 Suburban as my first vehicle ever back around November/December of 2012 and have somewhat started the process of fixing it up. Also planning lots and lots of upgrades and custom parts in the future!
I brought it for $3,650 with 120k miles on it. Truck was in impressive shape inside and out for a 97!
The first week, I got the following replaced or repaired:
-Drive axle
-fuel and brake lines
About a month later, I noticed the engine antifreeze out onto the road outside my house, or wherever I parked. Took it into the shop. I had the following done:
-3/4" heater hose
-"t" hose
-re-fill truck with antifreeze.
Then, the rear differential started making noises. Jumped right on that.
-wheel bearing
-bearing seals
-pinion bearings
-new diff. cover
-bearing race
-synthetic gear oil
Truck is GREAT now, except for a few things, which I will explain later on.

My first fix was the trailer light hookup, because some dumbass decided to back into me and drive off. I needed a new bumper anyway, but the only thing really damaged that I didnt want to replace was the trailer light connection, so I just snipped off the old setup and rewired a used one on. Works great now!

Installed the new wiring...took about 5 mins or less. I've done lots of trailer wiring.

Whats next? I need to get some money together, so I can start checking items off my wishlist This thread will be updated every few days!
Tomorrow I need to take off the dealer badge on the left side of the tailgate, because I dont want it on there.
