1997 5.7L VORTEC stalling and not starting

Yeah, that seemed to fix it. I know that's a pretty common problem, I had already changed the fuel pump 2 years ago. And this time it would intermittently start working and stop working, it was hard to catch it not working but when it did finally quit running, it was alot easier to troubleshoot.

IF ITS A FUEL PUMP ISSUE...have someone sit in the truck, turn the key to ON position dont turn it over...listen for the humming of the fuel pump to kick over...if nothing HAPPENS.,.,. hit the tank with a rubber mallet WHILE TURNING IT OVER, that will kick it on sometimes and then its a FUEL PUMP ISSUE

Not always. Your pump can turn on and still have an issue. You need to check fuel pressure.
