So just cut it to the width of the stock hood and weld it together? Will any GMT800 hood work, or does it have to be stock?

A good body man will be able to graft a hd hood onto a gmt400 hood.

What exactly are you wanting? You can buy Gmt400 cowl hoods already made. If you want one that looks like the ones posted in this thread then yes you have to have an HD hood an have it done custom.

Just buy a cowl hood if that is what you want. You better google hd hood so you know what you want.
