im sure there is some info on this but id like some utd advice..i do not have the nv 3500, I think they started using those in 92' or 93'? i have a 1991 k1500 4x4 that shifts smooth and works fine but is starting to make some serious rattling/spinning noise that goes away when in gear or clutch is depressed. i do a lot of towing with it and would love to put a nv4500 (possibly later version with higher first gear to keep some of the daily drivability?) money is no issue with this project just lack of knowledge...like same spline count, bell housing, ive dropped several trannys for clutches/throwout bearings/internal slave cylinders..ect. but that's as far as my skill level goes, hopefully someone can tell me its just dropping one out and bolting another up, but somehow i doubt it. thanks for any help.

As far as I know, the NV4500 swaps right in for the 3500. Same output spline, same clutch, same overall length.

You can swap a NV4500 into your 91, you will have to swap in a transmission with an external slave cylinder in order to use your current throwout/clutch slave setup. You also will need the bellhousing for the NV4500. Otherwise they are similar length and both 32 spline.

Thanks, itll probably be easier to get the earlier tranny with external slave then....I found a couple rebuilt w/bell housing, just not crazy about the extremely low 1st. Thanks for the help.
