    So basically take the good top end off my Gen 6 and put it on a good Gen 5 short block? That wouldn’t be too hard to do. Sounds like a “weekend build” that I’d be able to do. What about the cams? Aren’t the G5 flat tappet and G6 roller? Are they easily interchangeable?

    So find a GenIV block and not an GenV? Would I swap in my oe GenVI cam and lifters since I’ve heard the GenIV flat tappet isn’t the best? If I could find just a good bottom end/short block GenVI I’d swap my heads on it, but most short blocks are all rusted junk.

    That’s what I was afraid of, I found a couple GenVI engines, but they all are have either bad crank/rod bearings or they want $2k or more. And at that price it’d be cheaper for me to buy the tools and parts I need for the job and do it myself.
