Won't Start after replacing coil. Has spark

Last summer my truck started missing a little and I could mainly feel it cruising down the hwy. I opened the hood one night and spayed a little mist of water on the ignition system. Found that my coil was arching a little. Well I bought a coil and finally installed it this last weekend. When...

    Backwards spider injection

That's the thing it's not throwing any codes. It has developed an intermitent miss. I've replaced, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and intake manifold gasket, and fuel filter. I haven't check my fuel pressure yet so that's next.

    Backwards spider injection

I'm thinking I may have the same issue. I recently had my intake manifold gasket replaced and about a month after I got the truck back it started stubling (intermitent miss) like the OP. My question is when the shop replaced my intake manifold gasket did the spider injectors have to be...

    1998 K2500 5.7 misfire

Well I was wrong I apparently put Bosch platinum spark plugs in the last summer. I usually keep the old ones and the ones before these were champions. Anyway last night I used a water mister bottle to spray down my ignition system from the spark plug to the distributor to the coil. I have...

    1998 K2500 5.7 misfire

I've done a lot of research on this forum and many guys are having the same issue and what I have found is it's the AC-Delco spark plugs. Everyone is moving to either Autolite or NGK. I have the AC-Delco in mine and I'm pulling them and I wish I had my receipt from O'reilly for these. By the...

    1998 K2500 5.7 misfire

Ok, I went to O'reilly and had them pull a new coil from the shelf and I had my ohm meter with me and it read the same as my coil. Next I used their fuel pump tester to test my fuel pressure. Pressure came in at 63 psi. Anyone else have any ideas?

Ear Busting whine coming from Rearend at 70mph

Sorry it took so long to get back on this but my son has been driving it. But I drove it to work and the whinning is very pronounced from 65 to 75 and then suddenly is less pronounced above 75. I don't know if it hits a different "octave" at that speed but it is much quieter over 75. Also it...

    1998 K2500 5.7 misfire

OK the coil test again showed 0.4 ohms and the manual said it should be 0.1. Per manual it says it's bad. Odd. I couldn't find a procedure for checking the ignition control module. Any ideas on that? And I'll have to purchase a fuel pressure tester to check that.

If it's shorted out or weak would I be getting arc at the spark plug boots like I'm getting?

    1998 K2500 5.7 misfire

You suggested coil. Is there anyway a coil can send to much or not enough juice to a spark plug? Reason why I say that is the Chilton manual gave me 3 test procedures with an ohms meter. It passed 2 of the 3 tests. The manual said if it was not 0.1 ohm on one of the tests then it needs...

I did not use the dia electric. Is that really important? If it was why didn't AC-Delco send some with it?

I have replaced my Dist. cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires but I am still getting a misfire. I have 157,000 miles on the vehicle. I noticed I am getting arcing on 4 plugs at the spark plug boots. Any suggestions?

    97 5.7 strange itermittant misfire

So I replaced my sparkplug wires and not with AC-DELCO but with OMNI Spark. I put boot silicone on and was still getting missfire going down the hwy. Not as much. So when I got home after dark I opened the hood and looked around. Two sparkplug boots on each side of the engine where flashing...

    Tune Up Parts Numbers

Picked up my chilton manual while doing my tune-up on my 1998 5.7 Vortec and it said the sparkplug gap should be .035 but I got to O'reilly's Auto and they said .060. Who's right?

Ear Busting whine coming from Rearend at 70mph

Well I didn't get to open the differential yesterday and I'm booked solid. But I did have enough time to jack it up and spin the tires. When I turn the tires I hear a light constant "tennis shoe" squeak at the back end of the transmission of the 700r4. Nothing coming from the Diff or wheels...

What trans is it and why the quick shift

Well after thinking about it for a day I decided to go ahead with what I got from O'reilly Auto. I read, watched videos, you name it about how to adjustment the Throttle Valve cable on the 700r4. Some experts on youtube were even installing some cables that had a foot of extra cable (not the...

Either O'reilly or AutoZone. NAPA is not in this area. I'm going to take that part back to O'reilly and go to Stealership I guess.
