    98 Fuel guage bouncing

The info the sewlow posted about injecting RC car diff fluid into the motor actually works. I had done that at one point and it worked great, lasted maybe a year or so and started it again. I had found the new "f" marked stepper motors and replaced mine. I checked the seller I used on Ebay and...

    98 Fuel guage bouncing

I bought some awhile back from a seller on Ebay. Not sure if they still sell them but you could do a search. Good luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Fuel pump + line fittings

I would verify the threads on the line and sending unit are the same with a thread pitch guage. I would also compare the new parts to the old and see if the flare is the same. You could use a caliper and measure. I wouldn't assume they're correct and attempt to tighten it down and cross thread...

    Heater blower motor

Sounds about right. It's ridiculous for a rubber cover with some foam lining but I want my vehicles complete! Lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

I ordered one from my local GM dealer. That was a year or so ago and they are not cheap!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Rear Axle

Get a Lockright locker. Haven't priced one in years but I had one in an old 72' K5 I had " wish i still did" . It made a HUGE improvement offroad and you can install it without messing with the ring and pinion. They make a ratcheting sound on corners when you're off the gas. When you hit the gas...

New 99 Suburban owner. Hello all...

It looks like it was taken good care of, clean, low miles. Good looking rig, I'd love to have it! Lol!! I'm like you though, I know nothing about diesel's. There are some on here who have alot of experience with that engine and I'm sure will chime in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Door panel carpet

Carefully remove it and use it as a template to cut new carpet pieces for them. Use some 3M spray adhesive to glue them on. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Misfire Issues 98 5.7L

Spider is the way I would go. I've seen a 96' with a starting issue leak fuel from the regulator and then finally after they kept cranking on it....Boom! Sounded like a shotgun going off, cracked the upper plenum in several spots and took a chunk out of the spider assembly! Sent from my...

    No cruise control

No, you have to take the covers off the column. If I remember correctly there's a couple small Torx screws on the bottom cover. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    No cruise control

My issues in the past have been either the brake light switch or the multi function switch. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    No cruise control

Possibly the multi function switch " turn signal stalk" . The switchs for the cruise are on it and maybe not working. Something to check, good luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Part #

I would imagine it's been discontinued for quite awhile now. Interior parts are usually the first to go. Go to your local dealership and have them look it up and ask them to do a nationwide search to see if there is one laying around on some dealership shelf. Even if it shows that someone has...

    Interior trim screws/bolts

I don't know of any kit thats available but what I did was take one of each of the screws I needed and went to my local Napa. They have alot of "black" interior screws of different sizes. Match up yours with the ones they have. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    Brake Lights Staying On

Sounds like a faulty brake light switch. Its mounted on the brake pedal assembly. Have someone watch your brakelights and you can lay up under the dash and see whats going on when you hit them. Good luck! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

    350 5.7 Engine Build

Get a service manual that covers your model year. A GM manual is the best but will be a 4 book set that covers EVERYTHING on the truck and they'reexpensive. Sometimes you can find a used GM set on Ebay a little cheaper. A Haynes or Chilton's manual will cover mechanical stuff mostly and will...

    Stupid frame question

Not sure what the "correct " name for it is but I've seen many of those tubes crack and break where they weld to that crossmember. I would think cutting a sleeve to fit inside the tube and weld it there and then to the crossmember. Luckily mine isn't broken on my 99' 2 door Tahoe. Good Luck...

Eaton TrueTrac or Detroit Locker? Which gets the nod?

I ordered mine from 4 Wheel Parts during one of those " no tax" weekends they have. This is the one I have for my 99' 2 Door Tahoe. Eaton 913A481 Detroit Truetrac 8.5" 30 Spline Differential with 10 Bolt for GM My diff is the older 8.5 like yours and has the smaller carrier bearings. You will...
