    rebuilding my nv4500 tranny, replaced counter shaft, input shaft, front bearing retainer cover, 3rd gear, syncros, all bearings. setting end play on countershaft went perfect, used the thinest shim, gave me 2/12 to 3 thousants. the main shaft, no shim at all and no endplay. in fact bearing cup...

    cracked carrier

    well i pulled the rear dif. cover, raised back wheels of ground. started engine, trying to figure were bumping coming from. the carrier bumping into end of pinion gear. wtf. crrier cracked in about five places, ready to fly apart. this is a 89 z71, got a fctory locker. not sure what im gonna do...

    putting it back together

    finally find the time to reassemble my nv4500 tranny. rebuild kit, plus 3rd gear, pilot shaft, counter shaft. this in my 98 k2500. the other day, im driving my 89 z71 to a funaral, started making bumping, when i step on gas, stops when i coast. now what. now im driveing my 3rd pickup.
