    Headlights off, radio illumination off. Headlights on, radio illumination still off and clock screen turns off too, but I found the clock screen comes back if I set my dash dimmer to full brightness. Illumination is never on though.

    I tested the lights as installed by plugging the radio into the truck and turning on the dash lights. Before messing with the CD player, all 10 LEDs in the radio faceplate lit up just fine.

    As an added update, all other functions of both the radio and the CD player are operational. If I can't figure it out, I'll hit up the junkyard and try again with a new set, I guess.

    I'm looking forward to the pics for the cargo light switch. I have never had any of the 3 or 4 I own actually light up, even with good bulbs and even with LED chips. I guess it's probably my wiring harness. Anybody know which wire controls the cargo light switch Illumination?

    Well, today I went through and unplugged everything, antenna cable at both ends, head unit connectors, fuses, and light switch, and plugged it all back in. And wouldn't you know it, the radio works.
