Nice, I used a long extension and a u-joint with masking tape to hold it at the exact angle it needed to be.

My friend Adam says the harnesses are about 90% sorted. He just ordered a 16 pin waterproof automotive connector for the L59 harness if in the event we ever have to put another engine in later that it be a simple matter of transferring this harness to another powerplant and plugging it into the corresponding plug that connects the motor to the truck harness.

We are doing an 87 octane tune. We have the whole engine harness for the engine. I assume from what you are saying we would have to buy another sensor to switch back and forth? I thought that these engines run on either?
The LS engine prior to ~2006 used an actual ethanol sensor installed in the fuel rail. The PCM has tables in it to adjust the AFR and timing depending on the detected ethanol content of the fuel. Most 87 octane in the US is ~10% ethanol, which drops the Stoich fuel ratio from 14.7 to ~14.1:1. Because ethanol burns at a different speed and is more resistant to detonation, it can handle more timing. If the PCM thinks there is more ethanol percentage than it actually has, the engine will knock like the police serving a warrant and it will pull a ton of timing out. My 2011 flex fuel suburban uses a virtual ethanol percentage calculation and somehow it got all screwed up. The PCM was thinking I had ~60% ethanol in 87 octane regular gas and it was making it run terrible. I ended up just disabling the flex fuel in the tune because we only have a single E87 station in the entire state and it is a 1-1/2 hour drive away from me.

The ethanol sensor is pretty reliable and useful, so Like @L31MaxExpress said, I would suggest just buying one and wiring it in to the stock ECM. You already have the injectors and the correct tune in the engine to handle it, so it will run better on the regular ~10% ethanol fuel as well as giving you the capability to put E85 in it if you are towing heavy and want the extra grunt in the future.

Our tuner is disabling the flex fuel. It isn't available here either. The only towing I do is a 3 rail trailer with 3 vintage Japanese 2 strokes on board for my yearly trip to Deals Gap in NC.

Out with the cable driven accelerator pedal and in with the fly by wire. Transmission is installed as well. Motor and transmission are secured in thier new home and the driveshaft is hooked up. Crossmember had to be moved aft and new mount holes will have to be drilled in the frame.
