This was a busy summer for this truck as the picture in post #29 and #30 show.

We cut the truck in half, put new steel in place from behind the cab all the way to the bumper, making our own c-channel. While the thing was in two pieces I went full boar on replacing many over due items. Rust being the biggest factor.

Part numbers below are for the 10" rear drums that my truck has.

New Parts
While I was stringing the new fuel supply and return lines and brake lines that got to the rear I took the liberty of removing the previous two sets of fuel lines that were still there.

Doing the front brakes was a sigh of relief, replacing the patch jobs that had been done over the years with solid line from the passenger side hose bracket to the pre-bent sections that I got. I still need to give the system one or two more sessions of bleeding.

This should get me through the winter and then I get to tackle the body work. Cab corners, rockers, two cab mounts. She's finally getting there

Today starts the body work. I took out the passenger side interior to see what I was dealing with.

I took the flooring out and the inner rocker doesn't look so bad:

The rear can corners and inner cab corner definitely needs replacement:

I've started to dig in. Need to remove the bed to get at the rest of the cab corner panel and take off the door to get closer to the jams.

This is my first time doing any kind of body work, I'm really excited to keep working through this.

More than a few years later it was finally time to park her before her final ride. This ol girl only left me stranded once in 12 years of ownership. It taught me an amazing amount of mechanics and more or less change my path in life.

I picked nearly every usable part out of the vehicle, sold off a few items, and called the local junk yard to bring her off to car heaven.

Wouldn’t yeah know she went out with a bang! While loading her onto the flat bed the operator bumped the winch to tighten her down and SNAP! She gave us one last laugh.

She still ran great!
