Engine Cover on TBI?

Mine did not care if the insulation was there or not. Even with a 2.5" dual exhaust with magnaflow magnapack mufflers you could still hear the injection pump and injectors at 70 mph in the car.
Well the little cars I've been replacing engines in (4 cylinder Ford cars) that little foam insulator makes a huge difference. And so does the plastic engine cover.

Why? You don’t have a 5.3. Besides the top round air cleaner looks a lot more old school than a piece of plastic cover.

personally I remove all engine covers on my vehicles. All they do is retain engine heat. I like seeing the condition of my wires and hoses. And get a good view of the engine see if any leaks etc are developing.
