NEED HELP: Trouble removing manual transmission

The pilot bearing is probably rusted onto the pilot shaft. I have seen this before. Take a come-along and hook it to the back of the trans and the other end to the frame or something pull it out that way.

Sorry but gotta say starter?

The pilot bearing could've seized heated and melted into place basically. I agree with the come along. My nv4500 was pretty stuck. Just a lot of tail shaft left and right to start the movement... Some nice gentle full force kicks and a sore foot.

Put a jack under the trans so it is not hanging down and in a bind.you need to pry the two appart.dont bust anything.take your time.may be hung up.on throw out bearing.

Ok and yea I took the starter off and have tried foot for but I will try the come along

I had that issue on my 94 with a NV3500 trans. The cranks pilot bearing locked up on the input shaft would not let me get the trans off the engine. Put a jack under the trans to support it, and get 2 pry bars between the engine and trans. One on either side and work it back and forth until the input shaft lets loose of the bearing. Buy a new bearing or better yet, replace it with a bronse bushing if available.
