can you feel anything that might be keeping it from sliding back on the top side of the trans?
No I can’t see or feel nothing.

Hmm all i can think to do is try to start with a flat tipped pry bar and slowly tap it between the bellhousing and bloch to see if it will separate. try starting on one side and switch to the other and then switch back and forth till you get some movement. this should slowly walk it back. Just make sure that you have it supported some how so that if it lets loose it doesn't fall on you or fall and damage the trans.

No problem. I don't know if that will work. I have to do that sometimes at work when i replace generators on our reefers when they get stuck to the engine bellhousing. Usually after you get it moving it will walk off fairly easily.

I forgot about those. Maybe try spraying some sort of penetrating oil on them before you try the pry bar thing.

The ones that you took nuts off of that held tabs and brackets. Those are actually bolts with a built in stud just for tabs and brackets to attach to, so after you pull the nut off and move the tab or bracket outta the way you will see the actual hex to remove the bolt/stud. Only thing I can think of off hand.
