35 years from now when I’m dead and gone, the kids will be able to honestly say “always garaged as long as dad had it”, and then they’ll sell it for 12 trillion bitcoins or whatever the future currency equivalent is of $2,500 bucks today. Then they will buy a cheeseburger and a coke with the sales proceeds and say, dad sure didn’t invest well.

Do they make new ones that attach to the side molding? The molding on my 98 is shot and peeling, I’d like to replace it but wasn’t sure how any replacement 1500 badges would attach.

I have not done extensive research, but it seems from my initial searches that the readily available aftermarket molding does not have the metal female inserts for the original stylebadges with the metal tabs. So you end up getting the badges with 3M adhesive backing. I'm sure you could fabricate it to stick to the aftermarket molding but I think it's really made for a flat smooth surface. Or you might look for OEM but I'm guessing that would be much more expensive.

I think this door location justabove the molding is about the location of the '99-'03 Silverado style
