    HVAC damper door

Uh...yea...not a job for you if you have back problems or acid reflux. I can see running it unplugged is tempting. If normal rest position is recirculation mode, I recall condensation being a problem when running that. Yes, a gear tooth (or two) is broken off. No contact fingers or pad to...

Thanks! Yea-up. That's the deal. Great writeup by Richard! Thanks again.

    HVAC damper door

I am hearing a clack-clack-clack noise when I turn my '93 Silverado off. The sound is coming from below the glove box area and only at shut-off. I'm guessing it's damper door control/actuator. Any air distribution switch to Floor, Ventilation or Defrost is not a problem; sound is only at...

    Brake Sensitivity, Sudden Stops

I thought I have noticed strange and bad things to my transmissions after downshift braking - and have stopped doing that. I have no idea why this except that some force(s) is reversed.

    Brake Sensitivity, Sudden Stops

I'm not following that. Shoes aren't made with these compounds? (yes, the recollection was from front pads on a car)

    4x4 not working 98 Z71

Thanks for the follow-up! I thought this was the obvious conclusion but extremely rare.

    Brake Sensitivity, Sudden Stops

In my recollection, I tried ceramic pads (or compound with ceramic), and they had WAY less friction when cold (shocked the **** out of me first discovering this). This is in my memory as they are good for high performance in the racing sense - not daily driver. I have stayed away from them...

    Brake Sensitivity, Sudden Stops

This is only on the rear shoe due to the orientation with the static pivot point - this is why the rear shoe is longer (more wear). Disk pads also self-actuate at the leading edge.

Has anyone painted the inner wheel wells, or is there a custom liner you can buy?

Rubberized coating will be more inexpensive than the spray-on "bed liner" material (kit kind), but is less durable --- and I only recommend it on plastic lining. My current inexperience says something pliable, such as Cosmoline, Waxoyl, Krown or FluidFilm would be good, but I would probably go...

    Stock tire pressure

This is a convenient way to accomplish (and remember) a linear interpolation through loads/pressures. THANKS!

    Stock tire pressure

Thankyou. Right, my target is for unloaded use. I think I might reduce pressure by -2/-3 (front/rear). Maybe -1/-2

    Stock tire pressure

Thanks all. Uh hem...yes, "275" was a typo . I corrected the post, the tires are 265. I now also recall the tread chalk line test after reading the tread water method. It is interesting to see the difference between C and K models. I'd bet there is some comfort attention in that...

    Stock tire pressure

It seems I go through this every time I switch to winter tires (and back) - what is the tire air pressure consensus? I am using (stock sized) P265/75R16 tires on my '93 K1500 Silverado p/u. The door tag specifies 40/35 (front/rear, p.s.i.) for LT, mine are actually P. I won't be carrying or...

So, this is a total of 4?
