    5.7 Vortec Pinging and Misfiring

I have a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe 5.7. Recently, it has began what sounds like pinging under heavy throttle and misfiring. The misfires are coming from two to three cylinders according to my code reader. I am getting the misfire code p0300 and 0304 and the p0327 code. I've ran a compression check...

5.7 Vortec Engine Noise is driving me insane

Yeah, I'll take the belt off and make another one. How long can I run it without a water pump?

5.7 Vortec Engine Noise is driving me insane

1997 Tahoe 192,000 miles. I've only had the truck since the winter when it used to really clack bad on startup. It's gotten better with the warmer temperatures. I've since switched to Rotella t6 5w-40 from Mobile 1 HM 10w-30 and it seemed to quiet it down. It has good oil pressure and the...

    Mark VIII Fan wiring questions

I just got a Tbird fan and a volvo controller out of the junkyard. I was thinking instead of running the BMW temp sensor, I would run just a single temperature switch and install it in my passenger side head. ACDelco D1855B turns on at 210 degrees and turns off at 200 and has 3/8" NPT...

How to MarkVIII your OBS on a budget..!

I just got a Tbird fan and a volvo controller out of the junkyard. I was thinking instead of running the BMW temp sensor, I would run just a single temperature switch and install it in my passenger side head. Maybe one that turns on at 210 degrees and turns off at 200? With my clutch fan my...

    Radiator Recommendation

I determined my radiator is leaking between the plastic tank where it crimps to the metal. Would my best bet be to get an OEM ACDelco radiator or have a radiator shop fix mine? I've also seen some all aluminum radiators on Ebay. Anyone ever run one of those?

Replace Oil Cooler lines with AN lines?

Don't the AN to steel hose fittings flare themselves?

Replace Oil Cooler lines with AN lines?

http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performance-Products/555/110553/10002/-1?parentProductId= I think these are the correct ones to put on the hard line. It says 55 psi max, though. I wonder if that would be pushing it?

Replace Oil Cooler lines with AN lines?

Thanks, that's exactly what I was thinking off. Did you write down all the sizes of the fittings and adapters in your build thread? I think the oil adapter holes are 3/8" NPT, right? Do you remember how many feet of AN line you needed?

Replace Oil Cooler lines with AN lines?

I have a 1997 Tahoe that has the infamous leaking oil cooler lines. I do use this for towing in the summer, so I really don't want to eliminate the oil cooler. I also don't want to buy GM or Dorman lines just to have them leak again. I think AN lines would be a permanent solution. Has anyone...
