Thought I'd share the ongoing build of my 99 K1500 Suburban.
I've had this truck for years. It's mainly used as a winter beater and tow/hunting rig these days. I built the L31 about 13,000 miles ago but have been chasing wiring related issues for that have made the truck less than reliable for...
I had that happen on the 1st gear solenoid in a 4l60E in a 99 Silverado. You'd put it in gear from park and you'd have to give it gas to raise the pressure before it'd slam in to gear like a neutral drop.
I found a used intake on Ebay for $500. I also put larger injectors in it, swapped to a 0411, and had it tuned when I did it. You have to do some real minor machine work for the coolant bypass in the thermostat housing. You can keep the EGR if you do a divorced EGR setup but I deleted mine and...
You might be better served swapping to a marine intake. You can use real injectors which are available in many flow rates. I did one on mine, wasn't too difficult.
I noticed that when I tried LEDs in my headlights. Didn't like them for a few different reasons but one that is actually quite irritating is that the lack of heat means snow and ice build up on the lenses in the winter. Definitely suboptimal for winter driving.
Have you checked compression? I had one injector that had been failing for some time finally go and took the valves in that cylinder with it. I replaced the injector assembly (before I realised I had further damage), you could hardly breathe in my garage when I fired it back up. I did have a...
Does your existing light have a switch so you can turn the light on with the doors closed? If not, it likely only has 2 wires because it is switched power and ground. The Suburban one has a switched power for the dome, ground, and constant power for the map lights. You'd have to get it constant...
