The wiring you use is the number 11 and 12 wire. the other mod shows the number 1 and 3. here is the link.

do you have to have a cd in the player. I have seen another thread that said you did so I decided to scrap the idea because my player does not work. if there does not need to be a cd in the player I am game. if I jack it up seems simple enough to go back to original setup.
I cleaned the hell out of the contacts so I know it is not the battery. I have hit the starter with a hammer and even tried to manually cross the wire to get it to engage, there is not clicks or spinning of the bendix at all. it is like there is no starter there. so thank you all for the replys...
Vortec. got it. you can beat later for that. preferably after I fix the truck. if the bendix is not coming all the way out would it still spin inside the housing. is there a way to test it before I go and fork out money for a new one.
Got it Vortec. Vortex is VW right. I am new to chevy's. I was thinking that. I remember my brother had classic skylark and he would cross the power wire to the solenoid and tested to see if it was the solenoid or the starter itself. will this work on newer vehicles like ours.
I have a 96 Tahoe 5.7 vortex. about a week ago I had an issue where the started would not engage. Had power to everything else but would not turn over. call insurance for wrecker. and for s and giggles tried again about 15 minutes later and it fired right up without any issues. Did not have any...
