Yeah I figured I'd have to take a look at it. I've never lowered anything, I've always been an off road guy. If I have to shim it that's no big deal. Like I said I just don't wanna spend a lot as I've got other projects and the truck is a DD beater anyway.
Can I just throw a set of shackles on the back of my reg cab long bed to drop it a little? The truck is kind of a beater and I don't wanna sink any real money into it but I hate the rake that it has stock.
that's fine, i don't tow anything or haul anything heavy enough to make me worry about the frame. and my best friend is a fabricator so getting it done shouldn't be a problem.
yeah mine is a 3/4 ton. i figured the rear would be fine but i'd better ask about the front first.
this forum is cool, you guys have been pretty damn helpful.
honestly, wheels probably wont be happening. i was just gonna shoot the stock steelies black and leave it alone. the more i think about it maybe i'll just drop the ass end enough to level it out. hell i don't know.
gotcha.
so this

and these

and some decent shocks should get me going in the right direction. but will my wheels and tires clear? the truck has 265/??/16s on it off of a 2010 chevy k2500 on it.
a lot of the spindles ive seen specify that theyre for a 6 lug truck, in fact i havent seen one at all that specifies its for an 8 lug 3/4 ton. or are my spindles the same as a C3500? if so i could just order parts for a 1 ton.
the rear flip kit seems pretty straight forward. pull the bed...
so ive got a 99 C2500 RCLB (old body style, 8-lug) that needs an attitude adjustment and i think i want to lower it. i'm thinking something like 3/6" but i have no idea at all what it would take to make that happen. i've always had lifted 4x4s, i'm a rock crawler, i decided not to SAS this...
so looking around i see a lot of parts that specify they're for 6 lug trucks. i'm assuming the spindles are different but are the CLA/UCA/coil any different than on my 8-lug truck? sites like belltech also list a bunch of 454SS parts for my truck, i guess they were made with some heavier 3/4...
thanks a lot guys. like i said ive never lowered a truck before so i have no idea where to start. as with just about anybody anymore, i'm on a budget so i'll be looking through the classifieds here for parts as i go. i'm thinking 2" front springs and some shackles/hangers out back. but how...
thanks man!
ok like i said a lot of questions... why does everyone avoid long beds? everyone builds reg and ext cab short beds but i don't see many long bed trucks at all.
