    They were inconsistent with the 9.5, you could have got it in anything. There was two or three different sizes of drum brakes too.

    8600 GVW 9.5 or 10.5. depending on order options. My 1988 K 3500 had a 9.5 in it.

    A 2wd axle is a different width than a 4x4 axle, the 2wd is a few inches narrower

    There’s 3 2wd 3/4ton 6 lug trucks at my local junkyard and one has a g80 3.73 so hopefully it’s not gone before I can get it.

    Whatever truck you get the rear end from should also have the correct front diff. Good choice on the rear end swap, I did the same thing...

    If it's a 6 lug it got the smaller diff, if its 8 lug it got the bigger diff. 1500/2500 doesn't matter.

    3.73 is a very common ratio in these trucks, I doubt finding one would be harder than swapping a diff from a completely different truck.
