The cruise control ended up being the module itself, i got a used one and it is now working great.

98 Single cab Chevy I was having an issue with the third brake light working on and off (and the cargo lights dont work at all) so I pealed the lense off and found the sockets very loose and full of green corrosion. We cleaned them up as good as we could, but they still seem to work on and off...
