I took the doors off to paint truck and replace bushings. Replaced bushings and did a test fit with one door (perfect body lines). Now a few weeks later I cannot for the life of me get the doors back on. I keep hitting the fenders or bumps in the hinges. Maybe I have the door to wide open...
I have a project truck that came with powered buckets that I don't feel like fixing ATM/am changing paint color. I need to swap my 60/40 bench seat in. I have not seen a good writeup/video for this swap. These trucks don't come to the junkyard often enough for me to measure.... Anybody know how...
I did have an OBDII scanner in linux (I think there is only like 1). I think it was abandoned. It had a weird yellow/purple/green "barney and friends" color scheme. It wasn't helpful for my car as I had a lot of separate computers (BCM, PCM....) that couldn't be read. The serial interface...
What about brake fluid? When I press the brake pedal the rpms increase by ~100. I thought I just had a vacuum leak and could replace the booster at a later date. Burning brake fluid would smell pretty bad... This seems like it would make sense.... except the reservoir isn't low and I have...
Perhaps not... I had that laptop set up for my 93' suburban. Since it was working on the 94' I didn't mess with it. I think 93' might have been different as the 1st year of the 4L60E in GMT400s.
I forgot to mention new fuel tank + delphi pump + fuel filter -> premium gas with a little stable.
Fuel+oil...That's a good a guess as I have right now... Most logical choice
I did just light a piece of toilet paper with transmission fluid... same white smoke but it didn't have the eye burning...
So I see a vacuum modulator on rockauto listed for the 94' 4L60E... do I have one of those on an electronic tranny? I feel like my truck wasn't smoking before I overfilled the trans. Maybe the trans fluid is going into the intake manifold. Transmission fluid was lower today after driving around...
I have tunerpro but I don't see a way to read anything other than P,Drive. Is there software that can get at the transmission codes/live data for a 1994 w 4L60E? I can't seem to get 2nd gear (slow or not at all). If I directly shift into 2nd I can get into 2nd immediately. I don't think I have...
1994 K1500 TBI 5.7 170K miles (mud truck since paint failed ~2001, fuel pump died in 2012 sat under oak tree until 2023)
I have "white smoke" that comes out of exhaust when idling. Doesn't smell sweet like coolant or dissipate quickly like water vapor (hangs around like oil smoke). The smoke...
Have a 93 suburban that was partially converted to R134a by previous owner but they didn't change dryer or shrader valves (exploded). I don't want to remove the dash. Is there a special R134a pressure cycle switch that threads on an R12 dryer? R134a dryer won't thread on my R12 evaporator. I...
Update: flushing radiator and block with chemical flush then lots of tap water (not running just opening all hoses/plugs), I now am at comfy 192F with a 195F thermostat.
Stumbles in parking lot driving slowly after a warm start. RPMs flutter by ~50 RPM when in closed loop. Runs great in closed loop.
Heater core hose crumbled and I had to remove intake (and distributor) to extract. I put distributor back exactly in the same position (I think). PO used tap water...
You are correct about the thermostat... snipped off with pliers to "solve" the overheating problem.
It's ok because I am not doing diddly now that I snapped the pewter heater core hose fitting off in the intake. :(
