Why is it that everyone thinks they can overcome the difference in bulb design with HIDs just by aiming everything down farther? Even if your "cutoff line" is well below the line of sight of oncoming traffic, they're still getting all the brightness of that HID filament right in their eyeballs. Those Spyders don't have glare caps either, so it's extra inconsiderate for everyone else.
you took the words right of the tips of my fingers....i saw this earlier, but couldn't bring myself to reply. i'm learning to stay out of "towing" threads too. ....and this isn't dog pile on the rabbit either......i just can't help myself. it'sa fu@kin curse....and it's because i've seen it firsthand MANY times over the 13 years i was in towing and recovery industry.......it IS a big fu@kin deal.
88GMCtruck is the only mad scientist, errrr, person.....to overcome almost every single pitfall of this type of conversion......diligence, understanding, aptitude, responsibility..... he's fully cognizant of the dangers to others, that and his craftsmanship earn him a gold star in my mind.
i've said it before....ignorance can be overcome with education....and education has to come willingly IF one wants to learn. well, the multiplication table was BEATEN into my head.
perhaps the gentleman above can have someone follow him in his truck and do passes on dark roads to see if there is any "dazzling" going on.....and if not.....i see no reason to have done this as there is no DISTANCE light evident from that picture.......maybe it's just a "nice" color......i don't ***** know.
they CAN"T be aimed correctly if they're aimed DOWN to not blind people coming in the opposite direction, or who are driving in front of you.
not to mention the legality of it.
if there was a head on collision and the other driver said they were "blinded"....an AI just might find the buzz boxes, then you're toast.....period......insurance can deny the claim......even in a no-fault state like NY.
you can lead a horsey to water..........
