here’s my drawing of what I was saying I made it look like the other 2 boxes shown before so as to make it more relateable to visually see. But to me that’s good space for other items if your always having people in rear seat to have something that uses less space or custom build a unit up between front seats as in my gmt400 Escalade but it’s really on what sound your going for in the end.

Depending on your seat set up and some looking you could find a Escalade/Denali center console then you could replace the sub with whatever you wanted but I’m sure you’d have a lil bit of modification if changing size or simply replace Bose sub with a more powerful one if able to take out the Bose sub? Just another option if it wasn’t thought of since that’s were my sub is in foot area between front seats on floor

When I purchased my first truck new in '94 (ecsb k1500), I had a really good car stereo shop build a custom box under the back seat on the driver's side. It was a sealed box with two 8" Rockford Fosgate subs. They carpeted it with the matching tan carpet. There was more than enough bass with those two 8s for my needs. They were facing frontward (toward the driver seat) with grills over each for protection. Pushing them was an Alpine V12 amp, one of Alpine's best amps at the time.

I currently have a powered Bazooka Bass tube new in the box that I'll put in my truck. I purchased it last year for another truck I had, but never got around to it. The plan is to upgrade to a Retrosound receiver, Infinity speakers, and then I'll install the bass tube under the back seat (driver's side). Hopefully this system will sound like my old '94 truck did back in the day.

Yeah I had one them bazookas jbl one 8or10” but it was in my Sonoma an took up majority of the space in the extended cab. But sounded good for what it was but if your spending money on a box getting made it might as well be custom made so it’s best suited for all your needs.

This is an 8" and I'm pretty sure it'll fit under the back seat on the driver's side. The jack of course is on the other side. I agree, a custom box would be ideal like I had before. I just happen to have the bazooka tube NIB already to use.

Yeah mine was a tube with the amp an port on the other end of speaker but I’m sure they’ve gotten smaller since the mid-late 90’s! Lol

Yeah I’m just waiting for summertime to hit here in Michigan maybe it’ll decide to show but who knows the way it’s been going lately here! Lol and getting things fixed that I already had fixed but had to go Monday an get my money back from the shop as they can’t seem to be able to actually fix what I paid them to fixSMH! but I’m wanting a double din I just need to either buy one that comes with a trim kit or buy a kit so I can cut the dash bezel (I have 2nd one for that but also since someone broke one of the tabs so my headlight switch is loose SMH again!!)
to make it fit and look right! But I think I’m going go with a kenwood $300-400 range one it has lots of vehicle sound set up to better sound. like the little plug in mic pyramid I have for my home audio receiver that automatically sets up calibrates for your room type stuff I seen in a video comparison.

I saw this pic of someone on here that used a Kicker marine radio as in in-dash receiver. It's apparently a little smaller than a double DIN and fits better. If I didn't want my truck to look as stock as possible with Retrosound, I'd probably go with this. It's very clean looking, with no cutting of the original dash (it appears). It is somewhat pricey, though.
