Looks like it blew my fuel pump relay. I switched the relay with the a/c one and it cranked right up.

Thank you to everyone that assisted in troubleshooting. I truly appreciate it and am thankful for this forum. So many good people always wanting to help.

Now it's time to find some different wheels and drop it on ALDAN Coil-overs and fix all the other little issues....

Happy Holidays all!

Ok, new problem. The truck won't start at all now.

It died while I was backing it up (previous couple posts) I thought it was the fuel pump relay.. because when I switched the ac one with the fuel pump it started. I turned it off immediately last night thinking that was the issue. Then, today, I started it to move it today and it died after running for less than 2 min. Now won't start at all. I noticed the Fuel pump and A/C relay are different (one had 4 pins one has 5 so... I bought a new fuel pump relay today (just cuz) and still didn't help.

I bought a new multi-meter too.

I can hear the pump running with the key on, also when I pull the throttle she squirts so there is gas in there even after trying to start it. Battery as at 12.2V, the wire feeding the HEI is 11.3V with the key on. When I turn the key, it just turns and not all that fast.... woooop wooooop woooop. I checked my battery connections at the terminal and they are solid. Nice and tight.

The battery and starter look pretty new. Its a mini starter. Not sure on how new though..

Any ideas?

This no start issue started after a 15 min drive then, came home and hooked up the ground strap to the fuel filler. I have now taken in back off thinking that was the issue... I got a new fuel pump relay and tested voltage at battery, HEI, and confirmed spark at the plug. The starter is turning but, it is weak.

any ideas or other things to check? I may take the battery and starter to my local auto joint and have it load/bench tested.

I have spark. Pulled #1, hooked a jumper cable to it from the ground side of battery and turned the key... she had spark. I can hear the fuel pump running too.

Ok, checked the battery and starter... both good - checked all power connections. Charged the battery and she spins normal but still no fire. I have verified spark, 11.3 volts at the HEI and fuel. What else could it be?

You've probably looked at this, but check all the terminals on the starter and solenoid. In all my years of dealing with GM starters, I'd never seen this before, but on my Burb 's starter solenoid, the smaller terminal where the ignition wire attaches, was loose. This and unseen corrosion in the long positive cable were causing a hot start issue. I hope you can get this figured out soon, I know how frustrating these kinds of things can be.

I honestly don't know much about EVAP systems to be able to troubleshoot that aspect without some help. I am down to try though. Anything to get to the bottom of the problem. I am getting a steady reading on the FPR gauge so, I don't think it is affecting the fuel pump.

EVAP still hooked up to tank?
Still no wiser exactly how EVAP works but it operates as a sealed system with the potential to create vacuum in the tank - which would inhibit fuel supply.
