Go get a mailbox or toolbox lock. They fine with a lot of hook, short and long latch sections. Thry come on different threaded body lengths. All you need is to drill a hole. The thing is that you can’t really stop someone from prying the door or lock.

The best thing is to install a Anti-syphion spring in the filler hose/neck.

I thought we had a giant check ball in the filler neck, but that must have been another vehicle that I had. Maybe it was my 89 Jeep Comanche. When I replaced the filler neck on my truck in late 2018, neither the original or replacement had it.

My filler door is starting to rust. Maybe I'll get one of these locking retrofits when it starts looking too bad. I've never had an issue with siphoning, Though.

You know I hate to be the bearer of bad news but thieves don’t just siphon gas out. They also drill a hole in the gas tank and put the gas can under the car. For a while there that was how they did it back when gas was at 4.50/5 bucks a gallon

I was hoping for something close to bolt on, but if I can't go that route, I'll have to take the time to fabricate it myself. I work in the aviation world, and have been looking at modding an aircraft fuel cap into that location. Now to dig one up at a bone yard...
I really like that idea! If you do go that route please post pics and send me a pic of your work I’m really interested how it will turn out and look of which cap unless they’re all the same lol.
