I didnt think the reputable shops would do anything with our injectors because of being a bad design? I do have almost 300k miles on mine, though.

I haven't heard witchunter's name brought up in awhile.

I remember seeing you had one lock open, I can't even imagine how much of a pain that must've been.
I'm trying to track down some of the 454 injector info, but I can't find it. Wasn't there some of the 3800 Series 6-cylinders that had 28 pound injectors factory that fit in the fuel rail?
May wind up just caving and going the eBay route. Maybe try and snag an LS throttle body too.

LS1 injectors are about 28 lbs, and they should fit just fine. GTP injectors are 36 lb at 43.5 psi, probably overkill for you.

They won't mess with the factory ones, because they're known for being junk and failing in more ways than one.

That's why Ford "yellow-tops" are such a common mod. Reliability and finer atomization without needing a tune, and there are PLENTY in junkyards and eBay (cause fords are crap).

Find some blue injectors in a DOHC 4.6, they're 24# vs 19# for yellow at 3 bar.

Yeah they look just like the yellow ones. I nabbed a set eons ago and cannot remember what I used them on. The Fox/SN95 Cobra Mustangs got them too but those are harder to come by than a MarkVII/VIII.

Welp. Back from vacation, and happy to be behind the wheel of my own truck again. Parents had rented a 2020 GMC Denali for running around while we were in Iowa, I got to drive it a few times; it was nice, but too many "driver assist" sensors and alarms for my liking.
Got to see tons of family, saw some awesome dirt track racing, and had tons of fun between adventures with all the cousins (One adventure included trying to revive a Pontiac Fiero) and going on our yearly canoe trip on the 4th.
But now it's back to work, and back to tinkering on this thing.

Going to install my new cablights tomorrow after work, and start getting the wire for Tow/Haul ran and get it ready to hook up. Need to address some concerning areas, the front frame horns are full of water where it dips down behind the tow-hooks, anyone got a solution for keeping water out of there? Pin-hole drill in that section of the frame maybe?
My Kroil came in so naturally I soaked down a few manifold bolts in preparation for headers, hopefully a couple weeks of getting hit with Kroil everyday will lessen the chance of snapping anything off.

There's something else I was looking forward to on this Iowa trip. My uncle Mike passed away earlier this year after his battle with cancer, and I always asked him his plans for his old 70 GMC pickup that had been sitting ever since I was a kid. I was planning to talk to my aunt Lisa about it, I wanted to pull it from the weeds and build it up the way Mike wanted to build it. But my uncle Shane beat me to it, I'm glad it's getting rescued, and all hope isn't lost on my half yet; he has plans and a budget, but if plans and budgets don't work out he said he'd get in contact with me and sell it to me. Either way, if he goes through with his plans I'm atleast happy to see it pulled from the weeds and saved.

This thing is amazingly solid for a 50 year old Iowa truck, the doors and rockers have a couple little spots, and few of the bed joists rotted away with the wood floor, but it wouldn't take much to get this thing back to it's glory.

Sorry to hear about your Uncle passing away, he had a nice looking GMC, don't see too many 67-72 GMC's around.

Truck looks nice with the GMC grille on it, seems to fit with the chrome smoothies better imo.
