Where'd you get your battery cable? Or did you order that as a kit?

It definitely needs some more idle tuning I think because it'll bog once it first fires, lug and chug for a second then settles to idling RPM.

Even after the faster idle speed I'm STILL trying to get rid of that with my truck when the engine is warm. When I figure that one out I'll let ya know.

I got the kit from @5vortec7, I've had it for a while but just been super lazy.

Definitely let me know if you get something figured out, I'm trying to force myself to buy HPTuners so I can start tuning

Yeah. Not driving my truck often now-a-days. Wife lost her job. Gas is cheap but I still save money driving her car.

Working south of Lexington now. If you need something tweaked you can meet me easier.

Damn, that's terrible; did she lose it because of Covid? I hope everything gets back to normal soon.
Gas is cheap but all the far off places I want to go to are closed, ain't that some ****?

Both of my trucks do the lug and chug, but when the weather was cooler they didn't. The injector placement of the 454 and the 350 marine have shittier trajectory than the 350 the 411's tune is based off of. When I played with the transient tables over the winter, I licked it on the 1500. Once the weather warmed up it started it's crap again. Makes zero sense as these are based on coolant temp, not ambient.

Yeah, the Wuhan. Works at a center that relies heavily on schools doing field trips and retired folks bringing in their grandkids... They held onto her for a while at least.

Yeah, it's some ****. Basically only see family and go to the grocery store.

Meh, it doesn't get to me really. Try being stuck in a steel tube 500' below the waves for a month seeing the same ********** every 8hrs. At least I get to see the sunlight and play with my kid/catch up on my to do list.

Anywho, I actually had some progress today. Loaded a tune this morning slowing the decay rate of startup enrichment at warmer temps. Started great and idled fine as it leaned out. I think the AFR changes too fast and the spark advance tries to correct and overshoots. Idk. Imma try this tune for a month and see. Usually the truck will sit all day after work and it's 75-95°f and it'll grumble after startup. Sounds like crap.

Oddly Brody, the same morning I saw your post I was wanting to do more work on the startup issues that we, apparently, have. I tried initially tried speeding up the decay a smidge. No change. So then I doubled the exponential change to see if maybe it was the right direction. Nope, it got really bad.

So I'd been putting it off cause, well life hits, and I'd just been putting a little pressure on the throttle when starting up to avoid issues. So now I'm going in the other direction and initial use is good. Started with the "stock" curve and just bumped it a little.

I also don't allow STFT to adjust on startup. It won't go into closed loop until 135°f either. So it cranks and runs rich (like a carb with a couple pumps before starting up).

I'll let ya know how it goes.

100 sailors go down, 50 couples come up.
I pray for the day I hear an original one.

Thank you for providing excellent work for us out there. I know we call y'all bubba's, but without you we'd end up on the bottom.

And it's what I used to do. I joined the Navy that accelerated your life to the tune of Godsmack - Awake. It did not evolve as I imagined... especially after I saw the results of Adm. Mullen's "Run it like a business" strategy.

/Hijack.
