I'm excited to do the mpfi injectors but a little intimidated to dig in there and rip apart my engine.
I just bought a ‘98 Z71 and had to replace the blown out intake gasket. I too was timid about doing this repair but it’s actually straight forward and easy to do. If you can turn a wrench then you can do this job.
I wish I had the extra funds to do the mpfi injectors while I had the intake off and wasn’t in a pinch to get the truck running. After having the upper intake manifold off I see how easy it is to do so I do not mind waiting.
I too have have “high” mileage(255,520) and was debating on the EGR delete as well but for all intents and purposes it’s helps with gas mileage.
There was a thread I read last week about the effects of a CAI and had actual numbers showing they don’t actually help unless it’s fully sealed. One member actually took the lid of his stock box and read the number and showed for every 8° increase it equates to 1-2% power loss.
Since you have a cat back exhaust maybe leave that alone for now and get a black bear tune. Since they have free adjustments wouldn’t hurt to wait to redo the exhaust to longtubes and go true dual.
