wont shift past 2nd gear

The Solenoid apply chart is this....
1st gear, A and B solenoid is on.
2nd gear, A turns off, B stays on.
3rd gear, Both are off.
4th gear, A turns on, B turns off.

usually when a solenoid goes out, you lose either 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th. The main problem with these transmission's are the 3/4 clutches fail. That would be my bet if you have first and second gear only. Hope that helps.

if the clutches failed then youd be able to tell from burnt fluid and previous wear, if it went out all of the sudden my quess is go with the cheaper solution and look into electronics

I really dont know enough on this subject to comment but id like to help if i can. The tps went out on my car and would only go to second, might check the plug for something simple.

From what I've read. You have the 3rd gear and 4th gear backwards
