Transmission Fluid

So I just got my tranny fluid changed cuz it was old and smelt a little burnt, and now the fluid smells like it should but is still a brown colour, is that an indication of something or is that normal because I believe it’s supposed to be a reddish colour and I got it done at a shop

Unless you can totally drain/flush the system there will be dirty fluid in the torque converter. A long time ago when trucks had THM 350/400 tranys in them we used to drill and tap a hole in the converter for a 1/8 inch pipe plug to drain them. I have not seen a drain on a torque converter in quite a while.
