Truck is at the shop having just had a plastic distributor and crank sensor replaced.
Their computer will read and clear codes but will not connect to reset timing or read any other data.
Diagnostic port wiring Ohms out as good. Grounds cleaned.
Looking at car-part.com it lumps all PCMs for gas engines together for this year. Can I get a PCM for any motor displacement and transmission without having to do a reflash?
I know I can do a 411 swap, and plan to do so at some time but right now I need to get the truck running and don't have the time to do the swap or $ to get the new program.
