I'm not diggin' the rear roof line either. I never liked the look of the avalanche.
The bed rails are too low compared to a regular XC or crew cab. Looks odd to me, but I'd bet it was cut there because the rear side window dipped that low.

They did a good job though.
I'd rock it for a little while.

I'd rock it. Only changes i could see making would be grafting some bed rails and the corners from a pickup so it could use a standard truck tailgate.
