Rear Diff Noise

Drove fine on the highway going 55, Came to a stop sign and next road was gravel. As soon as I got on the gravel and went to speed up I heard shearing metal. Put it in 4wd and it doesn't make the sound no matter how hard you get on it. Drove home in 4 slowly. Took the cover off and no metal flakes and oil looked 6 months old.

Another thing to check is to pull the rear shaft, grab a hold of the output shaft on the t-case. If it moves a lot, you probably broke the snap ring that holds shaft against the pump.
