Radiator replacement questions on coolant

I have a 1996 silverado z71, and I'm replacing my radiator with a aftermarket stock style replacement radiator. First, can I go with the 2" core instead on the 1" core radiator?. Lastly, can I still use dex-cool in a aftermarket oem stlye replacement radiator? Thanks for the help, need help asap, buying the parts tomorrow!!!!!
