Np246 interchangeable with 233?

My transfer case is a NP246, electronic 4wd qudratrac I guess. I have to change it because it rattles...I'm offered a 233c, also electronic. Are they interchangeable?

It looks like those came on the S10/Blazer series of trucks...Not sure what differences are electronically, but probably will bolt up because both trucks had the 4L60e. The second number (NP233c vs NP246) says they are a bit weaker 3 vs 4.

Not sure what the ECU will do if it realizes there's not slippage going on based on speed sensor data? I have no clue.

You don't have a shop that can service your NP246 locally? Or maybe try to service it yourself? YT is your friend.
