Np 243 tranfer case issue

My 1997 z71 243 tranfer case wants to pop outta gear when I put it in reverse. It's not the transmission whatever it is it's in the tranfer case. Anybody dealt with this before. I've not took it apart yet that's my next step.

it is push button like yours np241 is floor shift np243 is push button and np246 is auto 4x4 there is also a borg warner floor shift but I do not know the model that it is

Dose it only do that in reverse?.

Yea only n reverse.all forward gears work as they should.

That's weird. That's a first for me. Hopefully someone with more knowledge chimes in.

It's the second tranfer case with the same issue. The transmission is out of my other z71 and it worked perfectly when I took it out.

Dose it grind in reverse or anything? . I may have found a solution.
