No AC from dash vents

I had no idea that you could re-calibrate the actuator. My air had the same problem last year and it is fine this year. I did have the battery out in the spring, but it never occurred to me that that ight have been what fixed it. I just thought the tool-box fairies took pity on me and fixed my truck one night.

My actuator gear was split:

But even after swapping it & getting some action, I discovered that the door inside the duct was off its pivot rod and flopping around, which might be why it bound up & broke the actuator gear. So I managed to blindly stab it back into place, and it seems to be working normally now. If it falls out again, I'll just keep putting it back. No way I'm pulling the dash for this.
