To me it look's like a bowtie from a 99-02 chevy, I don't think it look's bad from the front. I haven't seen any side views.

No I need them open for airflow, these diesel motor's had overheating problem's and they need every bit of airflow they can get. I like your bumper now but a smoothy would look great too!
