Need Help Clutch Line Blowing Off

I just replaced my whole clutch system due to my slave cylinder going out, now I cant get the clutch line to stay in the slave cylinder under pressure. Its a 1997 k1500 with the nv3500 in it. The slave cylinder has the metal clip but it also came with the plastic lock collar. Do I need to make sure that plastic lock is on it also? Thanks in advance.
