I am in need of some help. I have a 1997 gmc sierra 5.7 ecsb with 170000 on motor. While i was gone for trainging for the military all hell broke loose.. had intake gasket done back in 09 and now it seems to have leaked 3 gallons of antifreeze into engine oil. I wont be able to look into it for a few weeks so thats why im asking now. Would it be best to rebuild my current 5.7 and hope my trans is good after rebuild. Or get a used motor or just not have a vehicle for a while and get stuff together for a 5.3 swap. But im not exactly sure what is all involved with the swap. So if anyone who has done the swap can shed some light into it..in detail if possible it would be great. So i can figure out which way is best. Thanks in advance
