Lt4 hotcam in my 98... Ive searched!

Hey guys i have a 98 with the l31 bored 0.60 over, marine cam, long tubes, roller rockers, bb tune, efans, and shes already pretty nasty with my 4:10 gears but im wanting a beefier cam now and im really really leaning toward the lt4 hotcam.. Ive searched and read and looked but i want some of yalls advice. I know im gonna have to get some beehives and 787 retainers an 648keepers etc and get a new tune but would this be drivable everyday i dont mind a thumpy cam as long as she is still drivable everyday

I've got a Comp 224/230 @ .050 .530/.536 lift with 1.6 rockers, same spring/retainer setup in my Burb with the same engine as you, practically exact same setup. You'll want a stall to run it though, I have a 3000 stall in my truck with 4:11 gears and it's incredible.

You didnt machine the valve guides down to achieve that much lift?

If you're a man you can daily a radical cam. :rofl:

I'm not sure how big the lt4 actually is, but for big lift on the vortec heads you'll also need to machine the valve guides.

the lt4 cam in my opinion isnt huge, definitely an upgrade though and it seems like you have a good understanding of it but a stall would help alot too even if uit may not be needed. im not sure if it is or not.
