Driving truck today, all of a sudden i get a super loud jackhammer noise. That happens anytime it is in any forward gear. Cannot be driven, no movement in any forward gear. Jasper 4L60E trans, been installed 2 years, only 35K miles on it. Is it grenaded, or could this possibly be anything else?

Does it have reverse? It possibly could be your rear end. Have someone else try to drive it forward an see if the driveshaft is turning.

It could be a broken flexplate too....

It seems reverse may be OK, hard to say. Ill check tomorrow. If reverse does work, what does that mean?

broken flexplate would make noise at idle too right? My truck seems normal until you put it in gear and try to drive. only then does the jackhammer start, but the truck makes no attempt at moving forward.

Rearend was rebuilt 1000 miles ago, sound definitely doesnt come from there anyway.

Sounds like that transmission has seen its last mile. Something metal is floating around in there.
