Then lay the new one over the old one, align the holes and make your mark.

Here is what it should look like. You can increase the angle if yo need or want to. I have mine more than a 45 degree.

Now crawl under your truck and remove the center bolt of the valance. It is 10mm. Insert your new "bracket" and make a mark with a marker or a center punch. Now pull it back out and drill a hole big enough for the valance bolt to pass through. This secures the "bracket".

Once it is secured you can then mount the new (current) license plate to the old one. I used some old hardware I had laying around.

The bracket works for lowered trucks also. You just have to role the current tag to look like a C, more or less. This is so that it will not hook or catch on curbs when parking. I have had mine like that on my lowered truck for over 4 years no problems.

I mounted mine in the same place, I used doublesided tape to attach the license plate (our plates don't have pre-stamped holes). The Swedish "US plates" are the same width as the US plates but about 1.5" lower making ours the same hight as the valance. I like it, it's the least visible place and cops and inspection wont give me trouble for it.
