Knock Sensor Wire Gauge

I need to replace the length of the wire from the ESC to the knock sensor. Burnt and shorted by proximity to the headers. I'm going to make the wire longer so I can route it away from the headers.

What is the gauge of wire I need to get?

It's an 89 K1500 with the 350 TBI if that matters. Got myself a code 43, pretty sure that's my problem. Any input is appreciated

Here's the diagram from an 88, s/b the same. Wire gauges in these diagrams are in metric. The KS has a .8 wire (#436, Dk Blu) which is ~18 AWG.

Better a larger gauge (smaller AWG number) especially if you're going to lengthen it significantly.
