keyless entry

I got a new fob online for my 97 after checking rpo codes to see if I have keyless entry on my 97. I put a clip in pins 4 and 8 and doors locked/unlocked indicating programming mode. After holding unlock and lock nothing happens. Will the module lock/unlock doors with clip in and still be faulty? and not work the remote fob. Thanks in advance. I searched this and no ever answers that question about the kem.

Yes they are weak but sitting in drivers seat it should work flawlessly.





Are you sure you bought the right fob?

Yes on right fob. I have no way of knowing if it works though. In this day and age new fob means nothing. Will try different battery in it in morning. When you jump 4 and 8 pins and door lock cycles, does this mean module working properly. Gonna check antenna wire also. I don't remember seeing that wire when replacing brake switch. Thanks

Usually yes that means the module is working but not always
